DESCRIPTION:

The Somerville Museum, established in 1897, is the oldest historical society in the Commonwealth. In 1925 they built their own building, now listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Today their programming is dynamic and focused on past, present and future—they illuminate history as, in Americo Castro’s phrase, “the dwelling-place of life.”
